Online Safety

At OPS we're partnered with Linewize to ensure our students are protected while using the internet. There are many ways that system works at our end, including;

filtering of websites
restricting internet use for set time periods
monitoring online activity - to detect inappropriate use, online bullying, or potential self-harm alerts

We regularly review our use of the internet in what is an ever-changing digital environment. You can be sure that if we are alerted to serious misconduct or potential harm, whānau will be contacted and kept in the loop.

This service also allows parents to monitor their own children's device use through the Qustodio Parent App. You can access a link to download the app free by visiting our Online Safety Hub (link below). The Hub also includes a wide range of information, tips and hot topics about internet safety for children, which we encourage all whānau to access.

Note: when downloading the Qustodio Parent App, make sure you use the link on the Online Safety Hub, as this will provide you with free access. If searched through a regular app or google search it will ask for payment.

Linewize Pulse

We are using Linewize Pulse to support students with their wellbeing and hauora, as well as adding a layer of safety and protection for students.

Students in Year 4-6 use Linewize Pulse to share a weekly update on their wellbeing. This data is collected and securely stored in Linewize's database and only accessible by delegated staff.

The data gives us a snapshot of how students are feeling in the moment, as well as insights into trends about wellbeing across the school.

Students can also offer affirmations or show gratitude to staff members that have supported them at school.
